Study schedule generator

Turn a list of topics and an exam date into a day-by-day study plan, with each topic revisited for review before the exam.

About this tool

The generator spreads sessions evenly between the start date and the exam date. Topics are introduced in order first, then cycled through again as review sessions — spaced repetition in its simplest form, which research consistently links to better retention than covering each topic once. Shorter sessions with breaks (such as 25-minute Pomodoro blocks) suit memorisation; longer blocks suit problem sets and essays.

Common questions

How are review sessions scheduled? After every topic has one learning session, the remaining sessions cycle through the list again as reviews, ending with a final review pass closest to the exam.

What if there are more topics than days? Multiple sessions per day are used first. If topics still outnumber available sessions at the chosen session length, shorten the session length or add hours per day.

Can the schedule be saved? Use the Print button and choose Save as PDF in the print dialog to keep a copy.
