Sort lines alphabetically

Sort any list of lines A–Z (or Z–A) instantly.

About this tool

Sorting uses natural language ordering for text. Choose numeric mode when each line starts with a number and you want 2 before 10 — plain alphabetical sorting puts "10" before "2".

Common questions

Why does 10 come before 2 in A–Z mode? Alphabetical order compares characters, and "1" sorts before "2". Numeric mode compares the numbers themselves.

Can I remove duplicates at the same time? Sort first, then run the result through Remove Duplicate Lines — duplicates sit next to each other after sorting, which also makes them easy to eyeball.
