Fill in the parts of a product description once, and get a clean plain-text version and a simple HTML version, ready to copy into a listing.
Most marketplaces accept either plain text or a small amount of HTML, and retyping the same description in two formats invites inconsistencies. This formatter takes the standard parts, a product name, a short intro, a feature list with one feature per line, specifications written as Key: Value lines, and a shipping and returns note, and assembles both versions at once. Features become a bullet list, specifications become a labelled list in HTML and plain lines in text, and any HTML characters typed into the fields are escaped in the HTML output so they display as text rather than markup. The result is a starting point: each marketplace makes its own final decision about which HTML tags it keeps, so check the listing preview after pasting.
When should the plain-text version be used? Use plain text for marketplaces and feeds that strip HTML, for email, and for any field labelled description or plain text. It keeps the same headings and bullet structure using line breaks and dashes instead of tags.
Is the HTML version safe to paste anywhere? It uses only basic tags, headings, paragraphs, lists and bold, which most listing editors accept. Some marketplaces strip some tags on save, which is their final decision, so preview the listing after pasting and check the formatting survived.
