Four percentage calculations in one place — percent of a number, what percent one number is of another, percentage change, and increasing or decreasing by a percent. Results update as you type.
How do I work out a percentage of a number? Multiply the number by the percentage, then divide by 100. For 20% of 150: 150 × 20 ÷ 100 = 30. The first box above does exactly this as you type.
How is percentage change different from percentage points? Going from 80 to 100 is a 25% increase — the change (20) measured against where you started (80). Percentage points are the plain difference between two percentages: a rate moving from 4% to 5% rose 1 percentage point, which is a 25% increase.
