About this tool

The countdown uses the visitor's local clock and counts down to the next local midnight, which is the start of the following day. Alongside the hours, minutes and seconds display, the total remaining minutes and total remaining seconds are shown as plain numbers. The display starts automatically when the page loads and refreshes every second, so no button or input is needed. If the local clock changes, for example across a daylight saving adjustment, the remaining time reflects the new local midnight.

Common questions

Does the countdown use local time or UTC? Local time. Midnight means the next midnight in the visitor's own time zone, taken from the device clock.

Why does the total minutes figure not match the minutes in the clock display? The clock display splits the remaining time into hours, minutes and seconds, while the total minutes figure is the whole remaining time expressed in minutes alone, so the two numbers describe the same interval differently.
