Common questions

What size do profile and listing sites want? Common ones: 1080×1080 for square posts, 1200×630 for link previews, 800 px wide is a safe general web size. When a form states a maximum, resize a little under it.

Does resizing change quality? Shrinking keeps quality well. Enlarging past 100% cannot add detail — the picture gets bigger, not sharper.

Which format comes out? The same as went in: JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG.
