Enter a start date, a few details about the home, and how often key jobs should repeat — and get a dated, printable checklist for the next 12 months.
The schedule covers the next 12 months from the start date. Use the Print checklist button in the results to print or save it as a PDF.
The generator spreads the standard recurring jobs of a home across the next 12 months from the start date: monthly detector tests, filter changes at the chosen interval, seasonal gutter cleaning, annual servicing for the heating system and water heater, chimney sweeping where a fireplace or stove is ticked, deck inspection and sealing, garage door checks, dryer vent cleaning, and preparing outdoor taps before winter where a yard is ticked. Dates are practical defaults — a task can be done early or a few weeks late without harm; the point of the schedule is that nothing is forgotten for years at a time.
Which home jobs are most often forgotten? Dryer vent cleaning, water heater flushing and chimney sweeping top most lists — all three are out of sight, and all three carry fire or failure risks when skipped for years.
Should the schedule change for an older home? The tasks stay the same, but annual checks matter more: older roofs, wiring and plumbing benefit from a yearly look even when nothing seems wrong.
