Open a DXF drawing and see it rendered as a scalable drawing in the browser, with a layer list, per-layer counts and zoom controls.
No drawing loaded yet.
The viewer reads the DXF file as text, walks the group-code pairs of the ENTITIES section and builds a drawing from the entity types it supports: LINE, CIRCLE, ARC, LWPOLYLINE, POLYLINE (with its VERTEX entries) and POINT, using group code 8 as each entity’s layer. The drawing is rendered as an inline SVG fitted to the entities’ bounding box, so it stays sharp at any zoom; the zoom buttons narrow or widen the SVG viewBox. Layers are listed with per-layer entity counts and can be hidden and shown by re-rendering. The scope is deliberately narrow: blocks and INSERT references, TEXT and MTEXT, dimensions, hatches, splines and 3D entities are not drawn — unsupported entity types are counted and named in a note under the drawing. Binary DXF and DWG files are not supported.
Which DXF entities does this viewer draw? LINE, CIRCLE, ARC, LWPOLYLINE, POLYLINE with its VERTEX entries, and POINT entities are drawn. Any other entity type in the file is counted and named in a note below the drawing rather than silently ignored.
Can layers be turned off? Yes. The layer list under the drawing shows how many entities sit on each layer, and clearing a layer's checkbox re-renders the drawing without that layer.
Does it open DWG files? No. DWG is a separate binary format and is not parsed here. This viewer reads the text-based DXF format only; a DWG needs to be exported as DXF first.
