Cover letter generator

Answer the prompts and get a complete cover letter draft, structured the way hiring managers actually read them.

About this tool

The letter follows the structure recruiters scan for: a specific opening (the exact role and company, not a generic 'to whom it may concern'), a middle built from the applicant's own matching points, and a short close that asks for the interview. Tone changes the connective language only, the facts stay the applicant's, which is the part that matters. A generated letter is a draft: the strongest single improvement is replacing one matching point with a sentence about the specific company, a product, a value from its site, or the team named in the posting.

Keep the finished letter under one page and mirror the posting's own vocabulary for the role where it is honest to do so; many applicant systems match on those words.

Common questions

Should every application get a cover letter? When the posting asks for one, always. When it is optional, a short tailored letter still helps for roles with many similar applicants, but a generic letter is worse than none, so tailor at least the opening and one middle point.

How long should it be? 250–400 words. This generator targets the middle of that range with three matching points; cut to two for a tighter letter.

Can I submit it exactly as generated? It is written to be edited. Personalise the opening with something specific to the company, and check every claim is one you can back up in an interview.
