Business card generator

Design a clean standard-size business card and print a sheet of ten, ready to cut.

About this tool

The card is the universal 3.5 × 2 inch format at the standard layout: name largest, title and company beneath, contact details smallest at the foot, the reading order print shops and card scanners expect. The print view lays out ten cards on one US Letter sheet with cut guides, which is how home and office printing of cards is normally done; commercial printers prefer the single card with 3 mm bleed, so for a shop run, print one card to PDF and mention the bleed when ordering.

Contact details use the reserved 555 example number and example.com domain as placeholders. Double-check the real phone and email on the proof, a wrong digit on 250 printed cards is the classic business-card mistake.

Common questions

What size is a standard business card? 3.5 × 2 inches (89 × 51 mm) in the US; most of Europe uses 85 × 55 mm. This generator uses the US size.

Can I print these at a print shop? Yes, print a single sheet to PDF and take it in, or ask the shop to set the card from the PDF. For full-bleed colour to the edge, tell them the design has a white margin by intent.

Should a card have a QR code? It helps at events. Generate one with the on-site QR Code Generator and a shop can place it on the back; the front stays cleaner without it.
