Convert text to Base64, or decode a Base64 string back into readable text. Handles accented characters and emoji correctly, and tells you plainly when a string is not valid Base64.
What is Base64 used for? It turns data that is not plain text — images, files, tokens — into a safe string of letters, numbers, + and / that can travel through email, URLs, and JSON without getting mangled. It is an encoding, not encryption: anyone can decode it.
Why does decoding fail on some text? Base64 only allows a specific alphabet, and the length usually has to line up in blocks of four, sometimes with = padding at the end. One stray space or missing character breaks it — this tool says so plainly instead of guessing.
