Cut the dead air off the start, the ramble off the end, or lift one section out of a longer recording. Load a file, set the start and end, and export the trimmed clip.

About this tool

The file is decoded with the Web Audio API, which handles MP3, WAV and OGG in every modern browser, and M4A/AAC in Safari and Edge. The preview player plays only the selected range so the cut can be checked before exporting. Export is WAV: larger than MP3, but lossless and accepted everywhere.

Common questions

Why is the export WAV instead of MP3? WAV is the format the browser can write natively without extra encoders, and it loses no quality. For a smaller file, run the result through the Audio Converter on this site.

Why would a file not load? The browser could not decode it. M4A files made by some recorders only decode in Safari/Edge; converting the file to MP3 or WAV first usually fixes it.
