Stamp page numbers onto every page of a PDF — for reports, applications, and printed documents that need them.
Numbers are drawn onto each page as real PDF text in a standard font, so they print exactly as shown and survive being emailed or uploaded. The 'first page shows' option covers documents whose numbering starts partway through a larger work (a chapter starting at page 40, for example), and the cover-page option keeps a title page clean while the count still starts from it.
Will the numbers clash with existing footers? Numbers sit in the margin area (about 24 points from the edge). A document with a busy footer in the same spot will overlap — pick a different position if so.
Can some pages be skipped besides the first? Only the cover-page option above. For finer control, split the PDF, number the parts separately with different starting numbers, and merge them back.
